The Lachine Canal gets famous outside of Canada!
A few weeks ago, the Le Devoir urban blog talked about Vélib, the French equivalent of our Bixi here in Montreal. On their website, Vélib was asking users to vote for their dream cycling path from around the world. The Lachine Canal cycling path in Montreal was among the different choices offered! Even more interesting, the results show that cycling along the Lachine Canal was ranked 6th, in front of London, Copenhague, Amsterdam, Berlin and Dublin!
And did you know that in 2009, the Lachine Canal cycling path came in 3rd place for the most beautiful urban circuits in the world, according to Times magazine?
